Battersea Dogs and Cats Home grows brand licensing programme

Battersea Dogs and Cats Home has inked a deal with Casa Chicos to put its branding on clothing for the first time.

The move will see the clothes manufacturer, which makes clothes for babies and toddlers for brands including Hello Kitty and Fisher-Price, produce a range of apparel for the charity.

The home has also signed up Hachette Children’s Books to publish pet guides for cats and dogs for kids as it looks to expand its licensing programme. It already counts wholesale, fancy dress manufacturer Smiffy’s, greeting card supplier Woodmansterne and Random House Children’s Books among its licensees and has plans for more new products in areas such as back to school, clothing, gifts and homewares.

Lucy McCredie, licensing consultant for Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, says: “These partnerships are very important to the home as royalties from licensed products support Battersea in caring for thousands of lost, unwanted and abandoned dogs and cats every year.”
