Microsoft drafts in Steven Gerrard and Spock to trumpet gaming focus in Xbox One ad

Microsoft has roped in England captain Steven Gerrard and Star Trek actor Zachary Quinto to front an advert promoting how its upcoming Xbox One console will blur the lines between games and entertainment.

The advert, created in partnership with Crispin Porter + Bogusky, showcases some of the launch titles for the console such as Titanfall, Fifa 14, Forza 5 and Dead Rising. The footage dominates the majority of the spot with the console’s entertainment features given the briefest of mentions. It aims to put the Xbox One’s marketing focus back on to gaming after its debut TV spot championed the console as the centre of living room entertainment.

Further activity will follow in the run to its 22 November launch date.
