Sony brings in Tinie Tempah for PS4 promo

Sony has signed UK hip hop star Tinie Tempah to front an interactive video for its upcoming Playstation 4 launch to highlight the console’s commitment to gamers.

The “Pass Out” rapper is fronting a video, in which viewers can use their smartphones to access exclusive content and take part in competitions. It features footage of the singer performing at concerts alongside scenes of him playing PS4 titles such as Knack and Driveclub.

It focuses on the console’s gaming credentials rather than it s home entertainment offering, a move rival Microsoft has also adopted for the latest Xbox One ad. The PS4 video is the second in its “4 the Players” campaign, which launched last week, to document the life of the brand, from its beginnings in 1995 through to this month’s 2013 launch.
