Three dancing pony returns for Christmas

Three Mobile’s popular dancing pony ad is returning to TV screens tonight (29 November), with a festive twist.

The Fleetwood Mac-soundtracked moonwalking horse spot, created by Wieden + Kennedy, has been retouched with snow, jingle bells and a tractor decked in tinsel.

The online “Pony Mixer” tool, allowing fans of the ad to customise their own version by choosing from a selection of music themes and accessories, is also making a comeback. Now called the “Pony Gifter”, users can add a personalised message to a selection of three pony films to share with friends.

The campaign will run on TV, cinema, VOD and rich digital display until 24 December.

Earlier this month Three also sprinkled some yuletide cheer on its pay as you go campaign, starring pug dog Mabel. An online video sees Mabel adorning an antler-topped onesie as she slides down a snowy hill on a sled.

Three is set to switch on its 4G network for the first time next month in four UK cities. It has promised to undercut its rivals by not charging a premium for upgrading to the service.
