The academy is now looking for talented young marketers for its fifth year of intake. The scholars benefit from a series of unique workshops, one to one sessions and boot camps designed to develop their potential to become the top marketers and business leaders of tomorrow.
Those accepted will be mentored and guided by CEOs, senior marketers, agency chiefs, entrepreneurs and professional coaches able to bring hard-won experience and insight to their sessions.
There is a rigorous four stage selection process to gain a place on the 30 strong intake. Potential scholars need to be nominated so business leaders and senior marketers are asked to identify the top talent in their organisations and nominate them by midnight on 21 February.
Nominations are also welcome for 2014 for those not on the “traditional” marketing path but who have shown outstanding entrepreneurial skills and ability. Last year’s cohort included a mix of brand marketers, agency-side talent and entrepreneurs
Marketing Academy alumni and entrepreneur James Eder, co-founder of Student Beans says: “The Marketing Academy was an amazing experience for an entrepreneur like myself and there is nothing like learning from people who have developed not only their businesses but their industry.”
Sherilyn Shackell founded The Marketing Academy in 2010 and the organisation’s partners include Marketing Week, O2, Nokia, British Gas, Mondelez and Microsoft.
She says: “It’s always exciting to see the breadth and depth of talent that lies in the UK’s marketing and advertising communities and we anticipate that this year will be no exception. If previous years are anything to go by the industry has a very bright future indeed.”
