Virgin Media has unveiled a new TV ad featuring Usain Bolt scheduled to break during tomorrow’s (Sun) World Cup final match.

The ad is to promote the ability to watch live Barclays Premier League games and other live sports channels in one place from one provider.

The spot, created by BBH, shows Olympian Bolt trying to pull off some football man oeuvres with varying results, including landing the ball in Sir Richard Branson’s model moon base.

Richard Larcombe, brand and marketing director at Virgin Media, says: “With the Premier League season just around the corner, we are showing everyone they can take those must-see matches out and about on laptops, smartphones and tablets too.”

Football fans will be able to find out exactly when and whom their favourite teams are playing with Virgin Media’s ultimate football fixture generator, which will launch on Monday (14 July).

The generator will also show what time matches start. Once TV schedules have been released, the generator will also give details of the channels matches are aired on. It will initially cover Premier League and Championship games, with more fixtures to be added as the season progresses.

Rival BT Sport has also unveiled its ad to launch coverage of the new Premier League season that features brand ambassadors such as Jose Mourinho, Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge, Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale and former Manchester United centre-back Rio Ferdinand.
