Marketing Week partners with Creative England for innovation event

Marketing Week has signed up as the media partner for Creative England’s New Year event, aimed at providing insight into how companies can fuel business growth through collaboration with creative disruptors.

Creative England

The free event ‘Creative England Live: Catalyse 2016’ is held in partnership with Google and seeks to highlight the success that can be achieved when small and big businesses collaborate creatively to drive the creative economy.

Guests will hear from Creative England’s CEO Caroline Norbury, alongside a panel of industry leaders including MediaCom UK’s chairman Karen Blackett; Facebook UK and Ireland’s director Steve Hatch; Isaac Densu, shorts commissioning editor at Channel 4 and Ed Vaizey MP, minister of state for culture and the digital economy. The panel will discuss new ways to nurture and commercialise the creative talent of the UK.

Besides addressing the latest trends and issues facing the UK’s creative industries and the technological advancements being made by the next generation of creative entrepreneurs, the event will also showcase the companies forging ahead with cross-sector innovations and include a raft of creative and commercial announcements.

Caroline Norbury, CEO of Creative England, says: “This is going to be a fantastic event and an opportunity for large companies and brands to witness at first hand the benefits of investing in small creative businesses and quite simply, the commercial magic that happens when we bring together the big guys with the little guys.

“And crucially, it’s also a wonderful opportunity for us to present the enormous talent we have across the country – along with the benefits of harnessing and supporting it.”

Steve Vranakis, executive creative director for Google EMEA, adds: “The creative economy in the UK is thriving – and more and more creators and businesses are harnessing the power of technology to reach new audiences and grow. This event promises to be a fascinating showcase of some of our best talent, and the innovations at the heart of their success.”

The event will take place on Wednesday, 20 January at Google HQ in St Giles Street, London, WC2H 8LG, from 10.30am until 7pm. Places are limited. You can read more about the event here.
