She joined the company 31 years ago as a graduate trainee after leaving Glasgow University and worked her way up to become corporate marketing director and UK head of marketing. In July 2014 she was promoted to brand director for Northern Europe.
In 2014, she was named as one of the top marketers in Marketing Week’s Vision 100. Donnelly was also the first female president of The Marketing Society.
A spokesperson for P&G told Marketing Week: “We can confirm that Roisin Donnelly will leave the company at the end of June to pursue other interests. We would like to thank Roisin for her 31 years of service and her brand building leadership both inside P&G and the wider industry.”
Donnelly recently said that while P&G has “changed constantly” since she joined one thing has remained the same and that is its focus on the consumer.
“[P&G] is not the company I joined but the consumer is still at the heart. We talk about digital and the pace of change but you have to put people at the heart to be successful. Marketers are too hung up on platforms and the latest things coming along,” she said, speaking at an Oystercatchers event.
