1. Grohe: Garbage dog
The proof is in the pudding; feature a cute dog in your advertising and your YouTube views will skyrocket. At least, that’s what sanitary fittings manufacturer Grohe has found. The ad, which looks to convince viewers of the importance of its new smart Sense system, racked up over four million views in March.
2. Mercedes-Benz Cars UK: The C-Class
Despite a fairly functional ad, Mercedes-Benz has generated a lot of eyes with its latest campaign, having bagged the second spot on YouTube’s list. The video itself is pretty straightforward, showing off the brand’s new range of ‘C-Class’ vehicles with “technologically-advanced” interiors.
3. Converse: Forever Chuck
As a brand, Converse is predominantly known for its links to skate culture. Its latest ad, however, looks to take a more mass market approach by featuring a number of young influencers and celebrities from across the globe. To be honest, we miss the skateboards.
4. Paddy Power: Ruby’s Revenge – Ruby Walsh confronts Twitter troll
Irish jockey Ruby Walsh was fed up of receiving hateful tweets from anonymous “eggs” on Twitter. And in an ad for Paddy Power, he decided to confront one of the trolls head-on. The troll in question had accused him of jumping off horses on purpose in exchange for money, and so Walsh decided to teach him a lesson by asking him to jump out of a car driving 40 miles per hour in exchange for 20 euros. If anything, this ad is a helpful reminder not to cross Mister Walsh – like, ever.
5. Lamborghini: Lamborghini Huracán Performante record at the Nürburgring
From one high-end car brand to another, Lamborghini decided to unveil its new Huracán Performante model by setting a new record at the Nürburgring Nordschleife Formula 1 circuit. This in turn made it the fastest consumer car to lap Germany’s famed track, beating the previous record holder, the Porsche 918 Spyder.
