Marketing Week columnist, academic and brand consultant Mark Ritson is going to hand out his own award for marketing excellence as part of this year’s Marketing Week’s Masters of Marketing.
The ‘Mark Ritson Award for Marketing Excellence’ will be Ritson’s pick of The Masters’ channel and sector category award winners. The only way to win is to enter The Masters. For more information and to enter go to www.themastersofmarketingawards.com
The Masters awards ceremony takes place the evening of 3 October ahead of The Festival of Marketing. The winner of Ritson’s award will be announced following his headline slot at the Festival, which takes place on 4 and 5 October at Tobacco Dock in London.
Ritson will go head to head with Professor Byron Sharp in one of the most important debates this year. Ritson will assess the impact of Sharp’s book ‘How Brands Grow’ and the areas where he believes it still falls short. Sharp will review the impact of his book seven years on and respond to Ritson’s rebuttal.
The Masters is unique among marketing awards in its scope and prestige, with 36 categories judged by some of the biggest names in marketing. The awards celebrate every aspect of a marketer’s job from strategy through to execution. There are awards for sector and channel masters as well as “Special Masters” categories such as or the best marketing team of the year.
Jaguar’s Feel Wimbledon campaign won festival headliner Steve Wozniak’s ‘Award for Tech Excellence’ last year. The campaign, entered by Mindshare, was part of Jaguar’s sponsorship of the iconic tennis tournament.
