Marketing Week rising star Claire Canty promoted to head of innovation at Weetabix

In her new role, Canty will be responsible for NPD, as well as developing Weetabix’s five year innovation and renovation pipeline.

Marketing Week Rising Star Claire Canty has been promoted to head of innovation at Weetabix UK and Ireland.

The new role sees Canty return to the marketing department after her previous cross-functional position as part of the sales team working on the Waitrose and Co-op accounts. She joined the company from Nestle Confectionery four years ago.

Canty will be responsible for delivering this year’s NPD plan, as well as developing Weetabix’s five year innovation and renovation pipeline. She replaces Paul Aikens who left the role in May 2017.

Canty will report into marketing director Sally Abbott. Abbott says: “Having generated great successes already in the marketing and commercial teams, and with so many outstanding accolades under her belt it’s easy to see why Claire has rapidly risen through the ranks. Her sheer determination, drive and passion set her up well to head up the innovation team and we look forward to seeing her continued progress with the support of the business.”

Canty was awarded Marketing Week’s Rising Star award at the Masters of Marketing award in 2015. She also completed the Marketing Academy’s Scholarship programme in 2016.

The Masters of Marketing awards are back this year on 3 October at Tobacco Dock in London. For more details visit www.festivalofmarketing.com/awards
