Mars’s US brand director succeeds Michele Oliver as top UK marketer

Kerry Cavanaugh will be making the move from the US to the UK following Oliver’s promotion to a global brand purpose role at Mars.

Mars has appointed US brand director Kerry Cavanaugh to the top marketing role in the UK, taking over from Michele Oliver.

Oliver was promoted last month to global corporate brand and purpose director as Mars looks to expand the work Oliver did in the UK on improving the diversity and inclusiveness of its advertising. Cavanaugh will join as marketing director, chocolate.

Cavanaugh was previously senior brand director in the US, responsible for four brands Dove chocolate (Galaxy in the UK), Twix, Maltesers and health bars Goodness Knows.

Mars says he has already begun transitioning to his new role, and will relocate to London in July. He will report to David Manzini, general manager at Mars Wrigley Confectionery UK.
