A-B chief David Dryden to step down

David Dryden, former marketing director and current vice president and managing director of Anheuser-Busch UK is to leave the company following last year’s merger with InBev.

InBev’s UK and Ireland chief, Stuart MacFarlane is to become president of the combined business in the region.

Dryden (pictured) joined Anheuser-Busch in 1992 as brand manager for portfolio brands and new brand development. He leaves the company at the end of the month.

He worked in Asia for four years from 1996 as country manager for the Philippines and South East Asia before becoming UK marketing director in 2000. Dryden took up the role of region director for European license markets before moving to his current role in 2005.

MacFarlane has been President of InBev UK and Ireland since February 2008 and has previously held senior UK and global roles within the company.

The merger of Budweiser-owner Anheuser-Busch and Brazilian-Belgian brewer InBev, which owns the Stella Artois brand, was announced last July but not complete until November.

The merged entity launched a new corporate identity last December introducing the image of an eagle rendered in “rich golden colours”.
