A case of foul play from Diary?

I am writing to “cry foul” about the Diary piece ‘Cobblers by name, cobblers by nature’ (MW February 26). I understand that the person who wrote it is a Hull City supporter and the chap who edits the Diary supports Huddersfield Town, both rival clubs in the Nationwide Division 3.

I accept the Diary is an opportunity to take a light-hearted look at the news, but I cannot believe that it is right for staff to use it to air their personal opinions in such a damaging manner.

In order for clubs, at every level, to survive they must diversify and that is what Northampton Town FC is doing with the development of the N-range.

May I suggest that the offenders be “sent off” to Northampton Town FC to research a more in-depth piece on the evolution of brands and marketing outside the Premiership?
