A novel way to fund Crimewatch

Not content with taking our money, it seems the BBC is now intent on taking our belongings too, if the behaviour of Lorraine Heggessey at last week’s TV United conference is anything to go by.

Fellow conference delegates at the BBC1 controller’s hotel were surprised to be accosted by a member of staff who asked them to retrieve another guest’s bag, which had been whisked away in Heggessey’s taxi.

Was this an innocent mistake, or is the corporation secretly preparing for a post-licence fee future?
