ABC figures reveal bad fortunes for The Independent on Sunday

The Independent on Sunday suffered the greatest hit in circulation figures during May with a drop of 14.6% compared with relatively level circulation figures for other papers according to the latest ABC figures.

The paper was revamped at the end of last month and the figures come following Denis O’Brien, the Irish telecoms and media tycoon’s investment of around £21m into the publication, increasing his share in Independent News & Media to 8%.
The daily market was divided into two with The Guardian, The Times, the Daily Mirror, the Daily Star and the Daily Express reporting minor increases in monthly circulation and The Sun, The Daily Mail, The Daily Telegraph, the Financial Times and The Independent suffering a small decrease in sales.

London’s free morning daily business newspaper City AM hit a distribution figure above 100,000 for the second month running with a figure of 100,672.
