Lewis will join Age UK in June and will lead on all marketing and business development for the group.

Lewis brings with him significant experience from Barclays Premier Banking where he was marketing director, and senior positions at Carlson and RCI. Lewis is also currently leading on marketing for Commonwealth Games England and will retain a part time involvement in this through to the games in October.

Lewis will lead a team which includes customer relationship marketing, digital, brand services and the ’engage business network’.

He takes over all aspects of marketing progressively from Lisa McCormack, who has been interim marketing director throughout the development and launch of Age UK. McCormack will revert to her consultancy work for Age UK and others from June.

Age UK was formally launched on 19 April as the new organization combining Age Concern and Help the Aged. The Age UK family includes Age Scotland, Age Cymru and Age NI.

Last month, it launched an election-based integrated marketing campaign to highlight the political significance of consumers aged over 60.

The “Our power is our number” ad drive, which was created in-house, is the first campaign the charity has launched since unveiling its new identity. It is part of a wider effort to build awareness of the new brand and the services the organisation offers to older consumers.
