Ailing Liberty ousts three in latest rejig

The ailing Liberty Group, owner of radio station Liberty 963 and Punch magazine, has undergone another restructure in an attempt to keep its head above the water.

Liberty 963 has dumped its sales and marketing director Sophie Hind, sponsorship and promotion manager David Goodall, and its national sales manager Dina Subhani. None of the three has a job to go to.

Meanwhile, Punch is to be completely revamped on May 21 with new editorial content and a new price. The new editor and deputy editor – Paul Spike and James Steen respectively – take up their positions this week. Last month the magazine lost its second advertising sales director, John Trickett, only six weeks after he joined.

Liberty Group general manager Neil Rodford says: “Liberty as a group is continuing to evolve. It is a process we need to go through until we have the right people and products.”

Liberty 963 will now run with a six-strong sales team – three local sales people and three regional sales people.
