Airbnb CMO ‘appalled’ at the lack of ethnic diversity at Cannes

Jonathan Mildenhall, CMO for Airbnb says he is “appalled” at the lack of ethnic diversity at Cannes this year, as he urges marketers to do something about it.

Mildenhall also spoke to Marketing Week about the need for more gender diversity. He said marketers can learn a lot from Bartle Bogle Hegarty founder Cindy Gallop as she is “working extremely hard to make sure the conversation doesn’t go away.”

diversity for the sake of diversity is not the solution. diversity should occur because of education and having the same chances as a young kid growing into an adult. due to recent history you can say that white just get more chances due to the environment they grow up/are brought up in. Diversity should naturally occur based on skill & chances, so start to educate parents, make sure they give their kids the best chance to succeed.
