Airport Express names new commercial director

Airport Express, the marketing and ticketing partnership for the Heathrow and Gatwick Express train services, has appointed Paul Brindley as its commercial director.

Brindley takes over from Kyle Haughton at a time of uncertainty for the airports and their attendant services. BAA, owner of the airports, is being forced to sell off the Gatwick property by the Competition Commission.

Brindley will oversee all marketing activities for Airport Express alongside other commercial duties.

He has worked in marketing positions for a number of companies, including marketing director for Spillers Specialty Feeds/Masterfoods, director of marketing Europe for Britax Childcare and director of marketing central and Eastern Europe for Energizer.

Airport Express has worked with integrated agency Libertine for seven years, appointing the agency when it was called RPM3.

The alliance was first established in 2000 and originally included the Stansted Express. In June 2006, train operating company One, now National Express East Anglia, took over management of sales and marketing for the service.
