Aldi, Channel 4 and Maltesers top Masters of Marketing shortlist

The shortlist for this year’s Masters of Marketing awards has been unveiled and brands including Nissan, Sainsbury’s and Unilever are leading the nominations.

Brands including Nissan, Maltesers, Channel 4 and Just Eat are leading the charge in the nominations for this year’s Masters of Marketing awards, in partnership with YouGov.

Nissan has topped the list with six nominations in categories including insight, automotive and PR and brand storytelling. It is followed by Maltesers, which has five nominations for the Maltesers brand including Mars UK’s marketing boss Michele Oliver as Visionary Marketer of the Year and Brand of the Year, while its ‘Look on the light side of disability’ campaign is up for three including Diversity and Inclusion Champion and in the Consumer Goods Category.

Aldi, Sainsbury’s, Channel 4, Just Eat and Unilever all have four nominations, while Very.co.uk, Domino’s Pizza and Boxt are among those on three.

The Masters of Marketing shortlist

Just Eat was one of the few brands to be nominated in a number of the ‘Special Masters’. Its CMO Barnaby Dawe is up against Channel 4’s Dan Brooke, GE’s Linda Boff, Marc Pritchard from Procter & Gamble and Unilever’s Aline Santos in the Visionary Marketer of the Year category.

It is also nominated for Brand of the Year against Amazon, Argos, Brewdog, Maltesers, Tesco and Yorkshire Tea and in the CEO Award for Marketing against Aviva, BT Group and easyJet.

One of the most hotly contested categories is for Diversity and Inclusion Champion, with seven brands making the shortlist. These include Channel 4, Lloyds, Barclays, Channel 4, Oban International and BBC World Service and Sainsbury’s.
