Amnesty International creates campaign director role

Amnesty International has named Thomas Schultz-Jagow as its first director of campaigns and fundraising.

Amnesty International has named Thomas Schultz-Jagow as its first director of campaigns and communication.

He joins Amnesty in March 2012 and will be responsible for developing a “high-impact” campaign and communications strategy for the international human rights charity. He will be based at the charity’s London office.

The charity is known for its lobbying against abuses of human rights.

Prior to Oxfam, he held senior communications and campaigns roles at both WWF and Greenpeace in Germany, including director of communications at WWF’s international office.

Amnesty celebrated its 50th year this year and launched on online TV channel to coincide with the anniversary and hopes to reach a younger audience with magazine-style shows, campaign stunts and previews and reviews of human rights films.
