Andy Troullides quits MediaCom

Joint group managing director of MediaCom TMB Andy Troullides has resigned his post only eight months after the merger of media companies MediaCom and The Media Business Group (TMBG).

Troullides will leave the agency world to pursue his own “media-related” projects.

He says: “There are other things I was involved in outside business that were becoming increasingly attractive and were taking up more of my time. I thought it was time I gave them my full attention.”

Troullides joined MediaCom six years ago. Company sources close to the former MediaCom chief executive say the fact that he did not have equity in the merged business pushed him to this decision.

Grey-owned MediaCom bought TMBG for £28m last November, after protracted negotiations.

MediaCom TMB chairman and chief executive Allan Rich and joint managing director Stephen Allan, both originally with stakes in TMBG, became millionaires as a result of the deal.

Allan will become the company’s sole group managing director.

MediaCom TMB has just won the £10m Iceland account from Carat Manchester and is pitching against New PHD and incumbent BBJ Media Services for the £44m Volkswagen business. It is also in the middle of a three-way fight for Mars’ £77m centralised media account which is shared with Zenith Media and MediaVest.

MediaCom TMB has billings of more than £350m and its client roster includes, Procter & Gamble, SmithKline Beecham, Great Universal Stores and Ikea.
