Another kind of engagement

Being put on hold is a frustrating experience. The waiting is bad enough, but another rendition of Greensleeves played on the panpipes usually has the Diary reaching for the strychnine.

So, hats off to ad agency Campbell Doyle Dye, which is offering anyone put on hold a choice of either two free press ads, or a dinner date with “a partner of their choice”.

How refreshing to not only have the “hold experience” made all the more enjoyable, but to see company partners – Messrs Campbell, Doyle and Dye – paying such a close personal interest in their clients. Though why they couldn’t just join a dating agency like anyone else remains a mystery.
