AOL brings alternative music site to the UK

AOL has launched Spinner in the UK, a site aimed at alternative music fans.

Spinner, already live in the US, forms part of AOL Music and features updates about bands, festivals, gigs and tours, along with a range of streamed pre-released tracks.

Bill Crandall, VP of AOL Music, said it was designed for passionate music fans whose tastes stretch beyond the charts.

“We’re continuing to tap into music passion points by creating genre-specific sites to create the most comprehensive music experience on the web,” he said.

Spinner joins AOL lifestyle sites Asylum and Ruby Room.
