AOL UK has signed three deals: with Superdrug, Virgin and Last-minute.com.

AOL’s “strategic marketing agreement” with Superdrug will see the Internet service provider’s free trial offer CDs placed alongside the chemist’s health and beauty products in 700 stores across the UK. The agreement builds on an existing distribution deal between the two companies.

Meanwhile, Virgin Wines has signed an advertising agreement with AOL UK, following their one-year alliance.

The deal extends the previous campaign which, according to both parties, was highly effective in converting online consumers into buyers.

Under the new agreement, Virgin Wines will advertise extensively in the food and drink sections of the Shop@ channels, on the Women Channel and Health Channel offered by the AOL and CompuServe subscription services, and on www.aol.co.uk and www. netscape.co.uk.

Virgin Wines recently forged close ties with Amazon.co.uk, giving it a co-branded presence on the e-tailer’s site (MW October 18).

Lastminute.com has announced a pan-European content and e-commerce agreement to provide AOL Europe’s 5 million members with last-minute travel, entertainment and shopping offers.

The deal, which builds on a two-year alliance between the two companies, will see AOL Europe integrate Lastminute.com’s booking and search engines into its travel, entertainment and Shop@ channels across services in the UK, France and Germany.
