Air France, Continental Airlines, Delta Airlines, Emirates, KLM and United Airlines will begin offering customers iPod connections on their seats, which power and charge the MP3 players during flight. Passengers will also be able to view video content from their iPods on their seat-back screens. The scheme launches in the middle of next year.

It is understood that Apple is currently in talks with other airlines with a view to rolling out the scheme further.
