Aristo in cheap stunt shocker!

Glamour magazine certainly knows how to organise an event. Its latest bash was a “VIP” Christmas shopping trip last week, officially launched by Lady Victoria “curvy” Hervey.

Now, in order to live up to its name – and the reputation of its guest – one might have expected the trip to be rather exclusive. Kensington perhaps, or Covent Garden.

But no. Glamour knew of a far more exclusive place: Bicester Village. For those of you not lucky enough to move freely among London’s glitterati, that’s the Oxfordshire shopping centre which specialises in end-of-line stock and seconds. “Bond Street comes to Bicester”, it claims proudly (but discreetly, of course).

The idea of the fragrant Lady Hervey rifling through piles of “two for a tenner” sweaters and wrestling with middle-age women over last season’s pashminas is enough to make the Diary collapse with laughter…
