ASA receives Paddy Power’s complaints

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has received 31 complaints that Irish bookmaker Paddy Power’s latest set of ads, created by Bartle Bogle Hegarty, are indecent and offensive. One of the ads shows a young boy and girl kissing on a park bench. The strapline says: ‘2/1. Let’s make things more interesting’. The other ad shows two toddlers in a bath, appearing to offer odds on which one would drown in the tub. Two years ago, the ASA forced Paddy Power to withdraw a poster for being ‘ageist and offensive’, after upholding 50 complaints against the ad, which showed two elderly women crossing a road as a truck approached.
