Audi Channel signs content deals with Joost and Nokia

Audi’s branded television channel will be available to users of broadband TV service Joost and Nokia’s N-Series phones after the German car marque signed two new content deals. The agreements continue the Audi Channel’s move into on-demand programming, which launched last month through a deal with Top Up TV last month.

Customers of Joost will be able to view content on their computers via broadband, with an initial offering of ten hours of programming, with two more hours added every month. The Audi Channel will be one of the first branded channels on Joost.

In addition, Nokia users will be able to download one-minute clips from Audi Channel programmes using the N-Series Plus service.

Audi head of marketing Peter Duffy says: “Audi has always been at the forefront of new technologies, so just as it was apt that we were the first brand to go beyond advertiser-funded TV programmes, it’s also fitting that we are looking into revolutionary methods of distribution.”

The Audi Channel, which launched at the end of 2005, is a 24-hour non-subscription service available on Sky Digital channel 884 and on Audi’s website.
