Sander, current CEO of its Canadian business, has spent 16 years with Audi including “extensive” marketing and operations experience, and will replace Jeremy Hicks who left Audi earlier this year.

He has previously led Audi’s retail marketing and CRM activities and the sales division for Audi’s Northern Europe business.

Earlier this year, Audi appointed Dominic Chambers, former LG and Vodafone marketing chief, to lead its UK marketing. It also appointed Alison Jones as its head of operations in August meaning that three of Audi UK’s senior management are new to the UK business.

Jones joined Audi UK from parent company Volkswagen Group’s customer services division.

In 2010 Audi increased sales by 15% to a record 1.1 million vehicles and plans to invest €11.6bn (£10bn) in the brand and new models in the next five years.
