Autoglass pitches media account
Vehicle glass repair and replacement company Autoglass is pitching its media planning and buying business currently held by Universal McCann.
The pitch is being overseen by marketing director David Meliveo. He is a former easyJet marketer and joined Autoglass as head of marketing in June 2006.
The company was unavailable for comment. At the end of last year it indicated that it would be investing £10 million in marketing this year despite the tough economic climate.
Autoglass has invested heavily in radio advertising to drive sales in recent years but last year launched a television campaign created by McCann Erickson Brussels. The concept was based on the “Heroes” radio ad concept and featured a real Autoglass technician.
RAC-owned rival glass repair company Auto Windscreens recently appointed Nigel Davies as sales and marketing director.
