Avis picks European boss to lead UK growth

Avis UK, the car hire company, has appointed Josi Kytle as head of marketing. She replaces Xavier Vallee who has left to take up a role as head of direct marketing for Avis Europe.

Kytle, who was previously Avis Europe’s brand and marketing communications manager, moves to her new role immediately.

At Avis Europe, she was responsible for developing the company’s pan-European marketing campaigns, and launched the speed-of-service guarantee – the Avis Preferred 3 Minute Promise – across Europe.

She also implemented new brand and communications guidelines across the corporate and licensee network.

Avis UK commercial director Daniel McCarthy says Kytle has helped shape Avis’s European marketing strategy over the past few years, and it is hoped that she can do the same in the UK.

Kytle says that she feels she can help to grow the UK business, despite the current economic troubles that are affecting the travel industry.

She adds: “Although the travel industry is facing difficult times, it is in times like these that smart businesses win share, drive customer loyalty and long-term engagement.”

Kytle has also previously worked for British Airways in several high-profile marketing roles both in London and her native New York.
