Avis UK puts Reuters’ info chief behind the wheel

Avis%20car%20rentalAvis Europe, the car rental company, has appointed Kevin Bradshaw as managing director of Avis UK.

Bradshaw, managing director of Reuters Enterprise information division, will take up the new role in August. He will replace Stuart Gent who is moving to a senior position in the global private investment firm Bain Capital.

Bradshaw joined Reuters in 1997 as strategy director for its information division before becoming chief operating officer for its investment banking division. In his present role, he implemented a successful growth strategy that claims to have turned Reuters Datascope into the company’s fastest growing business.

Says Murray Hennessy, chief executive of Avis Europe: “Gent successfully led a comprehensive restructuring of the UK business and has laid the foundations on which Kevin can build.”

Bradshaw began his career with Kalchas, a strategy consulting firm with financial services’ and media clients in the UK and US.

The Avis Group operates under an exclusive licence through the Avis and Budget brands in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. The brand’s network comprises more than 2,900 locations in 99 countries. It also has licence arrangements in a further 85 territories.
