She steps up from her current position as UK strategic marketing director and will replace Olivier Mariée who is to take up the global role of group marketing and distribution director based at AXA’s headquarters in Paris. Mariée will replace Marc Raisière
In her new role, she will be responsible for the development and implementation of the marketing, brand and communication strategies for the UK and Ireland.
Toner will start 1 November and report directly to Nicolas Moreau, group chief executive of AXA UK. She will also become a member of the AXA UK Executive Committee.
In her last job, she was responsible for marketing strategy and planning, customer insight and segmentation as well as for customer and distributor satisfaction programmes and tracking.
The appointment comes a month after Axa announced the launch of a number of new products including the Axa Family Suntrust pension.
It also appointed Havas UK to handle media planning and buying across the company in August.
