Bauer appoints Kiss and Magic marketing chief

Bauer Media has appointed Starcom MediaVest account director Anushia Johnson as interim marketing and communications director for radio stations Magic 105.4 and Kiss.

Johnson will fill in for Tina Finch, who is on maternity leave.

She has been with the media agency for five years and currently handles strategic planning for Premier Foods. Starcom handles the Kiss account,

Both Magic and Kiss have just registered big gains in the second quarter, according to the latest Rajar data.

Magic increased its reach by 2% month on month to 2.04 million and registered the largest share in London with 6.4%.
Kiss saw its reach increase 10.9% quarter on quarter to 1.8 million, driven by breakfast pairing Rickie and Melvin, who registered 903,000 listeners, up on quarter one’s 656,000.

Finch took on what was then a newly created role in July 2009.

Marketing for Kiss has been digitally focused in the past 12 months, while a television campaign for Magic launched earlier this year.

Separately, Bauer is also looking for an interim head of marketing and communications for its Big City nationwide radio station network.

Current occupant Catherine Gort is leaving to go on maternity leave also.
