BBC Media Up For Grabs

The BBC has started the long-awaited review of its 20m media planning and buying account, a statutory review required under the EU Public Procurement Regulations.

Agencies have been gearing up for the statutory review, which must take place every five years, since June.

The successful media agency will be required to work across the BBC’s public service portfolio including BBC One, BBC Two, its digital channels, radio networks and other new media services.

The agency will work with the BBC’s marketing department to plan and buy media space for campaigns and provide market insight and analysis.

The process is being led by the corporation’s procurement department and will be completed by March 31 2007.

PHD is the incumbent on the bulk of the business, with communications planning agency Naked also on the broadcaster’s roster.
