BBH promotes Fennell to chief exec

Bartle Bogle Hegarty has promoted managing director Ben Fennell to chief executive. The role has been vacant since 2005, when Gwyn Jones became the group’s chief operating officer.

Deputy managing director Charlie Rudd has been promoted to replace Fennell as the agency’s managing director. Fennell has been with the BBH since 1994 and joined the board ten years later. He served as chief executive of the BBH Asia-Pacific from 2002 until 2004, when he returned to the UK as managing director of BBH’s London operation.

Rudd has been working at the agency for a decade across various account management roles, including head of account management.

Earlier this year, Nigel Bogle, co-founder and group chief executive of BBH moved into a group chairman role and group chief operating officer, Simon Sherwood, took over Bogle’s role of group chief executive.
