Beam Global Spirits & Wine has recruited former Cadbury Schweppes marketer and president Matt Shattock to be its new chief executive.
He takes control of brands such as Jim Beam, Maker’s Mark and Courvoisier Cognac as the company sees sliding sales due to the recession. The company reported a 16 per cent drop in sales in the fourth quarter and 4.8 per cent for the year.
Shattock left Cadbury Schweppes as part of a restructure in October and at that point held the title president of Britain, Ireland, Middle East and Africa.
His departures came shortly after the company revealed that it was to cut 250 global management jobs.
Shattock replaced Andrew Cosslett in 2005 as president for Europe, Middle East and Africa after the latter left to join Intercontinental Hotels as chief executive
Shattock joined Cadbury in February 2002 from Unilever Best foods North America where he was chief operating officer and during his time at Unilever held a number of roles across marketing and general management at Birds Eye Walls and Lipton.
Beam Global is owned by Fortune Brands and previous CEO Tom Flocco left last October.
