Beckham-backed health food brand picks Chick Smith Trott for UK launch

Health supplement and foods company GO3, fronted by David Beckham, has awarded Chick Smith Trott its advertising account, ahead of its UK launch.

It is understood the agency won the account following a pitch against agencies including Red Brick Road and M&C Saatchi. The pitch was handled the AAR.

Beckham has been signed as the face of the range of family-focused health supplements and foods (MW.co.uk May 9), which launched in the US in May.

GO3 products are due to launch in the UK next week and a campaign is planned for early 2009. GO3, an associated company of Findus, is also understood to be expanding into frozen foods.

The GO3 brand identity was created in February this year by London branding agency Smith & Milton. The agency has created a logo and packaging for GO3’s Omega-3 fish oil supplements and used Beckham’s image.

The company has yet to appoint a media agency.

The GO3 brand has been created to appeal to families. It says it partnered with Beckham to promote both fitness and a healthier lifestyle “for all ages”.

Chick Smith Trott also recently won the £4m advertising account for Italian food brand Sacla. It is understood the brand is also looking to expand into new categories.
