Whoever said blood is thicker than water doesn’t know Martin Robinson, marketing director of Scottish & Newcastle Retail, and his younger brother Andrew, actor.
Instead of supporting big brother’s efforts, the treacherous Robinson junior has been starring in TV ads for rival pub operator Greenalls. His dramatic moment in the ad involved knocking a pile of coins off the bar when a woman walked in with a shaved head.
Andrew could try to make it up to Martin by offering his thespian services free. But this is unlikely to cut any ice with Martin, who does not believe in TV advertising for his S&N Retail chains. Nevertheless, the Diary, which hates to see any disruption to sibling harmony, would like to remind Martin and Andrew at this point of that ancient and oft quoted saying: “Am I my brother’s innkeeper?”
