Body Shop appoints head of marketing

The Body Shop has appointed Sue Dover, Chancerealm group marketing controller, as its marketing director in place of Ronnie Helvey, who is leaving to join Harrods.

At Chancerealm, Dover oversees marketing for lingerie chains La Senza and Contessa and the stationery businesses Ryman and Partners.

Helvey is due to join Harrods as marketing director at the end of January and Dover will begin her new role at The Body Shop on March 4.

Prior to joining Chancerealm five years ago, Dover worked at Iceland as marketing manager for appliances and prior to that at Comet as product manager for small appliances and personal care.

Dover declined to say whether she will be appointing an advertising agency to work on The Body Shop, which according to reports last year was considering appointing its first advertising agency to work on the business for four years.
