Body Shop marketer to lead boo.com

Boo.com, the sports fashion Internet business, has appointed Marina Galanti from the Body Shop as vice-president of global marketing.

Galanti, former head of marketing and communications at The Body Shop, joins London-based boo.com this week.

She will be responsible for the company’s worldwide marketing activities, including its &£15m global advertising account through BMP DDB.

She will report directly to boo.com co-founder and chief executive Kajsa Leander.

Galanti says: “I think the company’s dynamic, multinational and youthful approach will help us push back the frontiers of marketing.”

Boo.com is expected to launch at the end of July and offers more than 15 sports fashion brands, including Vans, Fred Perry, Converse, Puma, Patagonia and North Face.

It is the first Internet business to sell sports brands in the same way as a fashion retailer.
