Boy meets Girl loses Stella Artois brief

Interbrew is reviewing its £1m below-the-line business at Boy meets Girl S&J. The review will come as a blow to the agency as Stella Artois was its first and only new business after the agency was relaunched by former St Luke’s senior managers Andy Law and Kate Stanners.

It is believed that the Belgian brewer has lined up six other agencies to pitch for the business.

The move comes less than six months after Boy meets Girl acquired Toffee, Interbrew’s incumbent below-the-line agency at the time (MW March 25). Last July the agency failed to win the £10m Smart car business, later awarded to Farm.

Boy meets Girl inherited its below-the-line business from The Reef, which it took over when it relaunched Springer & Jacoby (S&J) in January this year. It also took over design agency Foundation 33.

Lowe handles the above-the-line advertising account for Stella Artois globally, which will remain unaffected by the review.
