B&Q to launch energy saving advice service

B&Q is introducing an energy saving advice service in an effort to help its customers save money and improve the environmental efficiency of their homes.

From October the DIY retailer will operate a dedicated call centre, online helpdesk and energy saving service areas in ten stores to offer advice, free home assessments, exclusive energy saving products, payment advice, installation and after sales support so that customers can make the most of their money.

It will roll the service out to further stores throughout 2013.

To develop the service and provide the best advice, B&Q bought and operated its own home, to find out the best ways that real people could save money on bills.

As part of the initiative, B&Q will be the exclusive retail partner of iQE, a new branded range of energy efficient products such as boilers, heating controls, solar thermal, solar PV systems and home insulation products.

Martyn Phillips, CEO of B&Q UK & Ireland says: “We’ve been carrying out independent trials, working with experts in energy efficiency and invested in new products, services and training to ensure that B&Q is the best place to come for energy saving advice this autumn.”
