British Airways reports rise in profits

British Airways has reported a rise in first-half pre-tax profits to £240m, compared to £60m for the first half of 2003.

British Airways has reported a rise in first-half pre-tax profits to &£240m, compared to &£60m for the first half of 2003. Turnover increased by 3.6 per cent to &£3.9bn. The airline attributes the rise to cost-cutting and higher passenger numbers.
