Britvic creates MD role and recruits Diageo GB chief

Former Diageo UK chief Simon Litherland is to take up the new role of managing director at Britvic Soft Drinks to help give the company “a tighter focus” in Britain.
Litherland, who was ousted in a restructure at the global drinks giant, oversaw brands such as Guinness and Smirnoff.

At Britvic he will work with the UK-distributed Pepsi brands and Britvic’s own brands, such as Robinsons and Tango. Britvic’s marketing director is Simon Stewart.

He reports to CEO Paul Moody, who says: “Simon brings a wealth of experience, having performed a similar role at Diageo. The creation of the post of a GB managing director is a step forward for Britvic, giving the GB business a tighter focus and allowing the group executive committee to concentrate on our strategy of growing internationally both through acquisitions and extending existing franchise agreements.”

Soft drinks manufacturer Britvic licensed the use of its Robinsons squash brand for its first ever confectionery range in March.
