Britvic sees increase in profits

britvic.gifBritvic has reported a leap in profits for the first half of the year driven by a revival of fizzy drinks sales. The soft drinks company’s saw an 11.1% increase in profits before tax and one-off costs rose to £48.2m in the six months to April 15.

It attributed its strong performance to increases across the carbonate and still drinks divisions. It saw a 9.6% increase in revenue from carbonates, which includes its bottling and distribution rights to Pepsi, from £159.8m to £175.2m over the period. †Revenue increase by 8.5% across the stills division.

Britvic says it expects to benefit from brand launches, including Robinsons Smooth Juice and Fruit Shoot 100%, during the second half of the year.

The company saw a 9.3% rise in revenue across is branded portfolio from £323.5 to £353.6. The results mark a continued upturn in the performance of the company, which suffered a string of profit warnings in its first year as a listed company. Last week, Britvic acquired the soft drinks arm of C&C, the Irish beverage company.
