BT has appointed Steve Norris as head of sport for its television service BT Vision. He joins from sports TV channel network TAJ Television, where he was vice-president of operations and production.

Norris, who starts on April 1, will be responsible for growing the portfolio of sports available on BT Vision. He will report to BT’s Vision’s commercial director Marc Watson.

Norris jointly founded TAJ Television in 2000, when it was known as Ten Sports. He has previously held senior roles at sports marketing company ISL Worldwide and was a producer at Sky Sports.

Norris says: “BT Vision will offer the sports enthusiast something truly unique with a top line of live sport from around the world in conjunction with on-demand programming and services designed to cater for the needs of the modern viewer.”

BT Vision began broadcasting in December and will launch its sports service this summer. It will show live football matches after the company signed a deal with Irish broadcaster Setanta Sports at the end of last year.
