BUPA hands extranet brief to Space01

BUPA Individual Protection has appointed full-service digital agency space01 to create an extranet for its network of independent financial advisers.

BUPA IP is part of Bristol-based BUPA Health Assurance, the division of the healthcare giant that sells critical illness insurance, income protection and life assurance to consumers. Its products are sold by independent financial advisers and other brokers, and the new extranet will provide the sellers with back-office support, information on the latest products, sales support tools and access to a library of marketing materials.

The BUPA IP extranet will be launched at the end of this year.

BUPA offers health insurance, life insurance and other protection products, and runs hospitals and care services for the elderly and young disabled. It has 7.8 million customers in 180 countries.

Space01 was set up in September last year by former executives from M&C Saatchi and that agency’s digital arm, eMC Saatchi, with backing from software development company Practiv.

It has worked for a range of clients including Friends Provident, the recently launched Islamic Bank of England, Bright Grey and Clerical Medical.
